Joy and Hope

Over the past seven months, two beautiful women, Guadalupe Gonzalez and Cheri Rudolf, have been meeting for RCIA.  We have grown and learned together.  We have talked about God, the church, faith, prayer, grace and God’s love, the sacraments and many other things.  You may have been wondering why we did not celebrate the Scrutinies this year.  It’s because Lupe and Cheri have already been baptized.  They have been learning about our Catholic faith so that they can join us in full communion and be confirmed.  The theme we picked this year for our RCIA class is JOY AND HOPE.  The Catholic church community is a community of Joy and Hope.  When we welcome new members into full communion, we do so in joy and in hope because we never know what small or big things we may accomplish, with God’s help, in His mysterious world.  At the Easter Vigil, we celebrated as Lupe and Cheri joined us in full communion and we all live this mysterious journey in JOY AND HOPE.
