The Nursing Home Visitation Ministry is comprised of four
teams that provide Holy Communion weekly to the residents of
the Dyer Nursing and Rehabilitation Home. The respective
teams meet the first, second and fourth Friday of the month,
and on the third Saturday of the month. Each First Friday of
the month, the Liturgy is celebrated in the theater for any
resident who wishes to participate. Additionally, one of our
longest standing team members, Mike Domasica, leads the
Rosary every Monday evening. Some of the members
have helped distribute ashes on Ash Wednesday and have
helped with a Good Friday service.
This ministry provides not only
Holy Communion, but also the opportunity to reach out to
those who are m, those in need of a warming smile and a
gentle touch, and often merely a little companionship. It is
a uniquely fulfilling and uplifting experience for all of
its members. |
