Liturgy - the celebration of the faith of the Church

The General Instruction of the Roman Missal states that liturgy is the
"primary and indispensable source from which the faithful are to derive the true
Christian Spirit."

Liturgies don't just "happen," they need planning. The goal of your Liturgy
Committee is to focus on the full range of our parish's liturgical life and to
plan the celebrations so they inspire active participation - body, mind, and
spirit - of the entire faith community of St. Maria Goretti.

Many elements go into our liturgical celebrations - short and long range
planning, education, dialog, environment, music, other pertinent ministries,
logistics, etc. To encourage input from the community, our meetings are open to
all who wish to attend. We welcome suggestions and ideas that will reflect the
diversity of our parish family.

During our formation period we plan to meet twice a month. The meetings are held from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. in the South Hall of Casa Maria. These dates and those of additional meetings, as necessary, are published in the bulletin. The meeting
dates for the next twelve months are listed below.
